The LA Design Festival has long been known for providing a vibrant platform for artistic expression, cultural celebration, and intellectual discourse. During the festival, attendees had the opportunity to engage in a captivating conversation between Demar and Kevin Sherrod, Arts and Culture Practice Area Leader from Gensler, LA, and design faculty at USC. Together, their collaborative efforts explored the profound influence of architecture as a cultural symbol and conduit for traditions, values, and identity within Black communities putting the broader endeavor, Unearthing a Black Aesthetic front and center.
